Media 1 Productions has been working with one of the UK’s leading pharmaceutical companies for over 15 years. During their decade and a half-long partnership, Media 1 has developed cost effective solutions to make the most of the company’s own IT infrastructure and locations. They have worked on hundreds of internal meetings, conferences and events providing webcasting, technical support, project management and AV equipment all over the world.
Media 1’s service is perfectly tailored to compliment the Med Communications’ agency role. As a technical production specialist, we cover all areas that the agency doesn’t. We take the brief, specify the relevant technology, liaise with the venue and 3rd party suppliers, and set-up and operate the equipment to ensure the smooth running of the technical side of the event.
Media 1 supplies all the technical equipment and crew for the regular ‘Health Voice’ and Governing Body meetings. These are open to the public and require specialist audio equipment to be installed at assigned venues throughout Cheshire.
International building materials supplier
An international building materials supplier recently engaged Media 1 to manage the installation of AV equipment for their ‘Buyers Forum’ held at the Shard, London. As part of the brief we provided technical advice on what was possible to achieve visually given the building’s restraints. We installed large screen LED screens and audio equipment to facilitate presentations, video displays and audience Q&A sessions. Coincidentally our client supplied the glazing units used in the construction of the Shard.
Finance leaders conference
At a recent three day long finance leaders conference at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, our client was keen to have an off site dinner and awards ceremony, as the delegates were spending long periods of time in plenary and break out sessions at the hotel. We suggested the Oxo Tower Restaurant and Brasserie as it has wonderful views and a great seating plan, which would allow us to add our own AV equipment for the awards section of the evening. We installed large LED screens and PA system, and ensured the equipment was adequate for the presentations but discrete enough as to not detract from the venue or disrupt the smooth running of the service.
Excellence within its workforce
When a multi national company wants to reward excellence within its workforce, it is important to include as many sites as possible, wherever they are in the world. For several years the only reliable way to connect their three main facilities in Europe and the USA live was via satellite TV links. This can be very expensive and therefore used infrequently. As a result, Media 1 suggested using the in-house Video Conferencing facilities in place of the satellite trucks. We still supplied professional, broadcast standard cameras, mixers and audio equipment, simply linking the outputs of these and the presentations to the clients codecs. By using one codec per site, we could mix and switch instantly between sites ensuring a smooth and involving awards show.
Our client now has R&D facilities in 6 countries, on three continents, covering 14 time zones. The challenges of this year’s event have been overcome by scaling up the system to include Skype Professional units and an on-line technical Comm’s system that allows all onsite technical managers to speak to each other privately, or as a group. This ensures a successful event with comparatively low overheads, allowing our client to use the technology more often for internal comm’s.
